I was always a big fan of books in general. I read many books of different genres and subjects, mostly in Portuguese and English. In this section I will show you some of the books I enjoyed reading and why.

    • "Interview With the Vampire" by Anne Rice

Impossible to miss by a vampire fan. It introduces the reader to a world where vampires are both ruthless monsters and glamorous, knowledge-driven beings.

Written in that fabulous emotional and unique Anne Rice style, it makes the reader really feel how imortality can indeed become a curse and how could one cope with it without becoming insane with living eternaly.
Although vampires prey on humans, they also seek human company in order to still keep attached to the warmth of their once mortal life. So, it brings about the burden of solitude and the desperation of seeing all the people you once cared about die within your lifespan.

"The Way of Shadows" by Brent Weeks

I read this book when I was alone at an hotel room for a week with nothing to do but go to work from 9 to 5.

I just took it one day from a bookstore without even caring about the author - who was he, where was he from, if he had other known works, if he had good or bad reviews - or even the subject of the book. I just liked the cover and the title.
So I was impressed when I found out that I had really liked the book! It kept me awake at night with its dense plot, fantastic characters and good humour.
It can be very crude and violent in some parts because the author does not disguise reality with soft words, he just says things as they are without caring if it shocks you or not. I can't say that it is a bad thing but it is not very good either when all you are really looking for is a good fantasy reading.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to get into the other 2 volumes.
